How do I take advantage of the discount?
Visit Guggenheim’s TurboTax microsite.
At what point do I receive the discount: when I download the software, or when I file my return?
- If you choose the TurboTax Desktop Download, the discount will be applied at the time you download the software.
- If you choose to use TurboTax Online (TTO), the discount will be applied when paying for TurboTax, near the end of the filing process.
Is the discount available if I purchase a CD version of TurboTax?
No. The discount is only available when downloading the software or accessing TurboTax Online via Guggenheim’s designated microsite.
Is there a discount for downloading software to complete and file state tax returns?
No. The discount is only available on software used to complete and file federal tax returns; it does not apply to software downloads for filing state taxes.
Are corrected tax forms available through TurboTax?
No. If Guggenheim provides a corrected tax form, that data will not be available in TurboTax.
Can I still receive a discount on TurboTax if I didn’t receive any tax forms from Guggenheim this year?
Yes, as long as you access TurboTax through our microsite.
Can I still receive a discount on TurboTax if I don’t have a Guggenheim Investments account?
Yes, as long as you access TurboTax through our microsite.
What is the maximum number of transactions you can import from your tax form(s) into TurboTax?
Due to capacity limitations, most TurboTax products can accommodate a maximum of 250 transactions per form. Very active traders (i.e., those with more than 250 transactions) may need to use the CD version of TurboTax instead of the online software in order to import all of their tax information successfully. Extremely active traders (i.e., those with more than 500 transactions) may find that even the CD version does not have adequate capacity. For clients who purchase the "Business" (Desktop Download only) version of the TurboTax software, however, there is no limit to the number of transactions that can be imported for Form 1099-B.
If I don’t complete my tax return during my first attempt, can I just sign into TurboTax.com to finish it?
While your Guggenheim Investments tax data is available through TurboTax.com, you must sign in via our microsite to receive a discount. We suggest that you bookmark our microsite to ensure that you receive the discount when you complete and file your federal tax return.
What should I do if a transaction is incorrect or if a transaction is missing from my TurboTax import?
If a transaction is incorrect or missing from your TurboTax import, please refer to the tax form provided to you by Guggenheim Investments. You can access your tax forms online by logging in to your Guggenheim Investments account at TradeRydex.com. If you believe that the information on your tax form is incorrect, please contact Guggenheim Investments’ Client Services team at 800.820.0888.
Will my tax preparer be able to import my Guggenheim tax form data directly?
No. Your tax preparer must request any forms or documents they need from you via the customer interfaces in Intuit Link or Intuit Tax Form Dropoff. Once you receive the request from your tax preparer, you can log in and download your Guggenheim Investments tax documents. Only when you complete that process will the data be shared with your tax preparer.
What should I do if I have other questions about using TurboTax?
TurboTax has a detailed “Help” section located at the top of the microsite page that offers answers to commonly asked questions as well as expert help services.
