Guggenheim's Origination and Private Investment Activity - Over $4.5 Billion in 2021

Debt financing solutions from $25 to $500 million across the yield spectrum

Guggenheim Investments (“Guggenheim”) deployed over $1.7 billion in the final quarter of the year, totaling over $4.5 billion in 2021. We invest in opportunities up and down the capital structure and across industries in businesses both large and small.

Some themes from the year include:

  • Dividend recap prior to a sale or potential tax changes,
  • Dry powder for M&A in anticipation of a near-term sale (occasionally portable),
  • Tightly held company looking for non-control long term capital provider,
  • New platform acquisition with need for deep pockets based on growth plan,
  • Cross-border transaction with need for multiple currencies in size, and
  • Venture and growth capital investments.

Our deep capital base is not constrained by strict fund limitations. We welcome discussions around creative structures that cater to specific company or situation requirements.

Guggenheim’s direct investing arm - which is backed by its large integrated credit platform - provides capital solutions for leveraged buyouts, dividend recaps, acquisitions, and growth financings. We invest in directly negotiated and private middle market credit across first lien, second lien, unitranche and other structures. In addition, we remain active in the syndicated market providing anchor orders to sponsors and investment banks, acting as a co-underwriter for loans and providing private incremental facilities for existing broadly syndicated deals.
